The loot you keep is the loot you extract. Tarkov rewards the final 30 seconds of a raid more than anything else — and that's exactly why veterans camp extracts. This 2026 guide covers every extract type, the most commonly ambushed exits, PMC-vs-scav extract rules, and the habits that get you home with your kit intact.
Extract Types
Guaranteed active every raid. Always show up in your extract list on the map. Usually located at "obvious" spots — the boundary of the playable area, at specific roads, or at clearly marked points. These are the safest fallbacks for a new player. Examples: ZB-1011 on Customs, Pier Boat on Shoreline, Scav Checkpoint on Customs for scavs.
Only active if a specific condition is met. Common requirements include: time-limited windows, needing a specific item in your rig, being in a solo raid, needing no armour, or having a faction-specific status. Examples: Car extract (pay roubles), ZB-013 on Customs (green flare and light), SCAV Lands (coop with scav).
Active or inactive on a per-raid basis. Check your map overlay when the raid loads — a greyed extract is inactive for this raid specifically. This is what traps new players who memorise one extract and then find it closed when they get there. Examples: the two random PMC extracts on each side of Customs, specific Reserve bunker hatches.
Require a sacrifice to activate. Car extracts eat a chunk of your roubles. Some Reserve extracts require a bunker key. Gate 3 on Customs requires a specific item. Use these when you're confident they're worth the cost — a 15k rouble car extract is nothing if you've got a 500k raid in your bag.
Require two players to stand in the extract zone at the same time — usually a PMC and a scav, or two players of the same faction. Risky because trust is rare in Tarkov. Zeroed-in PMCs turning on a scav partner at the last second is the meme for a reason.
Ambush Zones
Predictable extracts are predictable for a reason. If you're kitted and planning to extract through these, approach with maximum caution — pre-fire sight lines, bait with a grenade, and consider waiting for the timer if you have time in the raid.

Never Die at Extract Again
Dying 40 metres from an extract after surviving a 25-minute raid is the most frustrating way to lose a kit in Tarkov. Extract ESP plus radar awareness plus 10 seconds of patience is the configuration that ends that pattern.
